Born, in Yamagata Prefecture
Apprenticed to the calligrapher Kaian TANAKA First exhibtion, at Awaji (as Tousui Shimada) Release of a DVD on Shimada's work in the World of Art series Several appearances on television giving calligraphy demonstrations, etc. Joint exhibition with Kaian Tanaka Exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany 6th solo exhibition, at Ichikawa. Joint exhibition with Mr Ezoe, at Nagoya Takes the new professional name Saiso Solo exhibtion in Paris Gives a calligraphy workshop in Paris, where she also participates in a demonstation / performance with the dancer Moeno Wakamatsu 8th solo exhibition Second joint performance in Paris with Moeno Wakamatsu. Calligraphy workshop in Normandy Production of the DVD 'Studies of calligraphy by Saiso Shimada' 9th solo exhibition (combined with workshops) takes place in both Normandy and Athens 10th solo exhibition at the prestigious Kyukyada Gallery, Ginza, Tokyo 30th exhibition of the Hakusuikai Calligraphy Association, headed by Saiso Shimada Publication of 'Cosmic Calligraphy The World of Saiso Shimada' Solo exhibition at the Galerie Etienne de Causans, Paris.
